Statistics to update you

Well we are nearly back. This week we have walked over 60 miles!

AND we did a collection of our loose euro change and will donate it to the Race for Life charity collection ... We have the equivalent of over £200 to add to the school total! FABULOUS! (A couple of members of the public donated in as well!).

We've had a super week and can't wait for next year 😀😀😀

Checking in ...

... And it's a test for everyone's understanding of privacy ... We are in the queue with Coronation Street's Anna Windass.

Wakey wakey! Rise and shine!

Well, we are in the park, waiting for the shop to open in 15 mins so that we can have breakfast. Then it's back to the hotel to pick up bags and check out before we check in at 10am. We will let you know how time goes ✈️

What a day!

We finished with the Marineland park today and saw loads (we mentioned a bit earlier).
And we couldn't miss the opportunity for a group photograph :
We've had pizza and a picnic in the park and, when we returned to our hotel, we discovered that we are sharing the hotel with the national ladies' basketball teams from Slovenia, Croatia, Russia, Belgium and the Czech Republic. We were offered free tickets to the tournament tomorrow - it's gutting that we had to turn them down! There are several students ha being photos with them!

Sharks, Dolphins, penguins, turtles, polar bears, killer whales and sea lions ...

After this morning and afternoon's fun in the water park. We've now hit the aquarium / sea world centre. We plan on seeing some fabulous dolphin antics very soon. Several of us are questioning the morality of this sort of attraction, but nonetheless we are enjoying seeing them.

Waterpark

All seem to be having lots of fun on the rides here at Aquasplash! They are smiling and constantly returning for water and sunscreen - which can only be a good thing!

What a day!!

We We've done so much since we last updated you ... Following our race for life! We are really proud of everyone at school in the heatwave too! Well done!!

Since we wrote this morning, we have been on an open-top bus tour ... Wow! Some people had leaves in their hair after that! We saw old Nice and modern Nice. We stopped off at the monastery in Cimiez and visited the Matisse museum.

After some ice cream, we re-joined the bus tour and returned to the town. We had a delicious meal in a restaurant and then explored a few little bits in small groups.

We spent the latter part of the day on the beach and some of us were able to enjoy a Segway experience! Lots of fun!

This evening allowed for time to chill in the beach before heading back

Guess how many miles we've walked today?!

5km Race for Life

Please please do donate to the school's justgiving page to pledge your support for Cancer Research UK - so many of us are or have been affected by cancer in one way or another.

The Nice team has walked 5km this morning and we have completed our Race for Life.

We have walked through beautiful conditions (if a little hot!)
In the photo above you can see our full walk - we walked "just around the corner" - a 5km corner!

Well done everyone.

And, don't forget, if you're reading this, you can donate to our school justgiving page - https://www.justgiving.com/ThekingsCEschool/

THANK YOU!

What are you doing today? And where are you? ...

... Our trip party is today here -

Monaco was stunning

We saw plenty and have walked all over. There are lots of achy feet and the children have been in bed for ages.
Today we've seen yachts, amphitheatres, cliffs, vineyards, formula 1 track, fast cars, expensive cars, fish, train stations, the beach and much more besides.
The evening finished with a pizza picnic on the beach!

Monaco

Well we've made it and have started taking photos of cars, road and designer handbags! We are bound to upload some photos later.

Heatwave

We are aware of the heatwave which is currently moving around France. We are enduring that students have LOTS of fluid AND that, on occasion, we have "water only" points in the day, to secure hydration.

End of a long day exploring

We've explored Nice on foot today. We've seen the Promenade des Anglais, the Place du Masséna and the most amazing water fountains(!) - there were a lot children in wet clothes (not all of them though!) - see the picture below!

We have enjoyed time at the beach, had a yummy lunch in a restaurant and we have had a huge picnic on the beach.

Today we have walked about 10 miles around the area.

It is time for us to begin getting our brains for Monaco tomorrow 🚝

Stocking up ...

We are all just stocking up on lots and lots of water; the are a lot of greasy hands following suncream application and we are just gathering to head further towards the town and then to start properly exploring.

On est arrivés!

We have landed and are all through passport control. Just putting some sunscreen in before we all head out into the "fresh air" which is incredibly hot 😀

All aboard

Well we are on the plane! All boarded and through waiting to go. We will update you in France. 😀

It's finally here :-)

We are finally waking up on the morning of our travel to Nice.  The weather outside, ,here in England, is not so good, but we will be updating on all aspects of our time away via this blog.  Keep looking and, don't forget, if you have a google sign in, please do leave comments - we love to get them!
